Off Weekend for Ballard After Port City Recovery as Road to Tulsa Begins
TULSA, OK -- With a busy final stretch of the season ahead and the Tulsa Shootout getting closer, Levi Ballard and Team Levi Racing are using this weekend away from competition to regroup and get ready for the next run of races.
That break comes after an eventful Pete Frazier Memorial at Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Ballard bounced back from a rough opening night to race from ninth to third against a strong 36-car Restricted Micro field in Saturday night's feature.
Friday was...one of those nights.
He was seventh in hot laps and started seventh in his heat race on a track that made passing extremely difficult. Unable to gain any positions, Levi started seventh in the B Feature and found himself caught up in a racing incident that sent his car cartwheeling.
Ballard walked away with a very sore back, and his night ended in a DNF.
Saturday gave him a chance to start over.
Levi was second-quickest in hot laps and won his heat race from the pole. With six cars already locked into the feature from Friday night, he lined up ninth for the main event.
This time, he went forward.
Ballard worked his way through a tough field, gaining six positions to finish third and add another podium at a track where he has enjoyed plenty of success this season.
“I’m happy to get a third tonight after starting ninth,” Levi said. “Last night was rough, but that’s part of racing. It was fun coming through the pack tonight against a pretty tough field of cars. Thank you so much to Factory Fourteen, Harley, Frannie, Thomas, Holley, Billy, CB Industries, Chad Boat, Keizer Racing Wheels, K1 RaceGear, Dirt Crowd, and all my supporters. I’m not going to win every race I run, but I’m always going to work my hardest at it!”
Team Levi Racing will take this weekend off before beginning a busy stretch of races to close out the 2026 season. With plenty of racing still ahead, the countdown to the Tulsa Shootout has begun.
